Happy New Year! We will not be shipping plants in 2022, but hope to resume in 2023. In the meantime, I recommend Seed Savers Exchange and Territorial Seeds for ordering live plants. They both have good quality and a good selection. Thank you for being the best customers that any business could hope for, and happy gardening! -Margie

  • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Smaller, bushy plants get loaded with little, creamy white, blazingly hot fruits... 90 days white. OP. This is the variety from Peru. Fruits are smaller than regular habaneros, just 1 1/2 inches long and 1/2 to 3/4 inches wide, which makes them the perfect size to add one to a meal. They start out creamy colored and eventually change to all white if left on the plant. The plants get loaded with the little devils. Searing heat - in the 300,000 scoville unit range, and typical fruity habanero flavor. Habaneros start small but grow into big bushes. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. A hardy and reliable rhubarb with pinkish-green stems... Perennial. OP Heirloom. Victoria has been around since 1837, and originated in England. It is reliable, productive, and long lived. It has a gourmet, winey/tart flavor that complements strawberries just perfectly. We can up dozens of jars of strawberry/rhubarb jam and syrup from our Victoria patch every year. It also freezes well, so you can have rhubarb cake in January! These plants are grown from seed - they are not divisions. We never had much success when we purchased and planted divisions, so we started growing rhubarb from seed and planting out plants from pots. We have excellent success getting the plants established this way. The plants are small, however, and should not be harvested from until the second year. By the third year the plants will be huge if properly cared for (manure and mulch!) Folks seem to want their rhubarb red, although we have never noted a taste difference between red and green. We grow these plants from seed, and the color is variable. While we try to select for red, some plants will be mostly green. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Italian Heirloom that produces a zucchini type summer squash and a butternut type winter squash. Bug resistant... 60 days summer squash, 90 days winter squash. OP. Heirloom from Italy. Cucurbita moschata. Rambling vines produce pale green, 12" to 18" long, thin, summer squash, with a yellow interior, that has more flavor and a firmer texture than zucchinis. Puts them to shame. Very good, indeed! Leave fruits on vine to mature into a 2' to 3' long, curved winter squash that looks like a stretched-out butternut squash, and can be used the same way. Italian's use them in ravioli. The huge blossoms make good fried/stuffed squash blossoms. Squash vine borer and squash bug resistant. All of our other squashes and pumpkins succumbed early in the summer. But, Zucca kept going until frost. We saw squash bugs on it, but they never got out of hand or did serious damage. The stem is very woody and corky coming right out of the ground, so we suspect that is why the borer leaves it alone. Amazingly productive, we harvested about 20 winter squashes from one hill. You can trellis and prune the vines at about 8' to keep them from rambling all over the garden. Seed was given to us by an Italian Doctor from Long Island, whose family brought it from Italy. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Early and prolific and extremely sweet red frying type pepper... 70 days. Open Pollinated, Heirloom. Ohh, ahh, we love this sweet pepper! The Organic Heirloom Jimmy Nardello Sweet Pepper plant is a modestly sized plant gets loaded with long (8"), thin, super sweet red peppers. This is a frying type with thin walls. After having read great things about it for years we finally trialed it in the summer of '09 and wondered why we did not grow it sooner. It has surpassed Lipstick as our 5 year old daughter's favorite garden snack. (Our son still prefers Lipstick because of the thick walls.) It is the sweetest, and possibly the most productive sweet pepper we grow. It is early to turn red and keeps pumping out the peppers until frost. Highly recommended., and our most popular sweet pepper. Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Stunningly beautiful, productive, candy flavored sweet pepper plant... 85 days. OP. A long, tapered, medium to thick walled, purple sweet pepper. Later to produce, but well worth the wait. It starts out deep purple and changes to fully red when ripe and at its sweetest. It turns several sunset colors all at the same time along the way. When fully red the flavor is out of this world. I have been trying to figure out how to describe the flavor that would do it justice, but all I can come up with is 'candy flavored'. It is more than just sweet. It needs a long season and plenty of heat to develop the flavor, but is definitely worth it. The best flavored sweet pepper I have ever eaten. I can only imagine how amazing it would be roasted because my kids eat them all up before I get the chance to roast any. Tall, healthy bush is very productive and needs support.
