This mix will contain 2 tomatoes, 1 hot pepper, 1 sweet pepper, 1 summer squash or zucchini, and 1 herb, our choice. Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. You are welcome to change the shipping date. Just respond to the e-mail and tell us when you want your plants. Our first shipping date is late March, weather permitting. We will not have plants available before then. Our plants are sustainably raised in our own potting mix. We use only organic fertilizers and sprays if needed. We have been growing and selling plants since 1997. Our plants are shipped in individual 3" deep pots. They are ready to be planted out in your garden. We package our plants with extreme care so they arrive undamaged at your doorstep. Each plant is tucked into its own padded sleeve. The soil in each pot is covered so it will not spill out. A plant tag identifying the variety is included with each plant. We ship every Monday and Tuesday, from late March through May, according to your location or your request. We currently ship to every state except Hawaii and Alaska.
  • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Classic Italian heirloom zucchini with superior flavor and texture... 55 days. Open Pollinated. Italian Heirloom. A very productive bush type zucchini with more flavor than most. The fruits are long and cylindrical, and are dark green with pale green ribbing - just beautiful! They are excellent when small for sauteing, grilling, steaming, etc, and also perfect for stuffing when larger. They develop seeds slower than most zucchinis, so they remain usable longer. Cocozelles also have a long shelf life. The only negative is that they are not particularly disease or bug resistant, so if you struggle with either one we recommend trying Zucchini Rampicante instead. However, they produce much longer for us than regular zucchinis, and are very productive. Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. You are welcome to change the date to any other shipping week. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. 52 days. Open pollinated Italian heirloom. Produces high-quality, fluted fruits that are dark green with lighter flecks, and have a delicious flavor and firm texture. The striped and mottled skin stays tender even to 18", though in Italy they are picked at 4"-5" with the blossoms still attached. Large production of male blossoms for stuffing, too. One of the highest quality and best tasting zucchini types that we have grown. Production is lower than more modern zucchinis, though, but the quality and flavor are worth it. We ship every Monday and Tuesday, from late March through late May, to the 48 contiguous states. We schedule your shipment to arrive just after the last frost date for your area. We will send an email from our farm (lazyoxfarm@yahoo.com) within 24 hours of receiving your order informing you of your shipping date. You are welcome to change the shipping date. Open Pollinated. Heirloom. Who doesn't love crookneck squash? It's tasty, productive, and so warty! This strain is extra early and stays in a compact bush form, but retains the classic shape, bright yellow color, and delicate flavor. • Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Very tasty and bug resistant summer squash the size and color of a lemon... C. pepo. Open pollinated. A very tasty and attractive heirloom summer squash that can be quite productive. Bug resistant, it keeps producing long after other squashes have succumbed. The fruits are abundant and the size and shape and color of lemons. The flavor and texture are very good, meaty and firm. These little beauties hold up well for grilling. Or grow to larger size and make very cute stuffed squash. This is a partially vining squash that starts out in a bush form but eventually runs a little. Produces over a long season even in areas where growing summer squash organically is a challenge. Highly recommended. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Italian Heirloom that produces a zucchini type summer squash and a butternut type winter squash. Bug resistant... 60 days summer squash, 90 days winter squash. OP. Heirloom from Italy. Cucurbita moschata. Rambling vines produce pale green, 12" to 18" long, thin, summer squash, with a yellow interior, that has more flavor and a firmer texture than zucchinis. Puts them to shame. Very good, indeed! Leave fruits on vine to mature into a 2' to 3' long, curved winter squash that looks like a stretched-out butternut squash, and can be used the same way. Italian's use them in ravioli. The huge blossoms make good fried/stuffed squash blossoms. Squash vine borer and squash bug resistant. All of our other squashes and pumpkins succumbed early in the summer. But, Zucca kept going until frost. We saw squash bugs on it, but they never got out of hand or did serious damage. The stem is very woody and corky coming right out of the ground, so we suspect that is why the borer leaves it alone. Amazingly productive, we harvested about 20 winter squashes from one hill. You can trellis and prune the vines at about 8' to keep them from rambling all over the garden. Seed was given to us by an Italian Doctor from Long Island, whose family brought it from Italy.
