Happy New Year! We will not be shipping plants in 2022, but hope to resume in 2023. In the meantime, I recommend Seed Savers Exchange and Territorial Seeds for ordering live plants. They both have good quality and a good selection. Thank you for being the best customers that any business could hope for, and happy gardening! -Margie

Hot Peppers, Stupid Hot

Home/Hot Pepper Plants/Hot Peppers, Stupid Hot

There are amazing things happening in the Super Hot Pepper world. Fantastic, new, stupid hot (over 1,000,000 scoville units) varieties are being discovered and created with purposeful cross breeding. We are now carrying lots of the hottest peppers on the planet, including the current Guinness Book of World Records holder, Smokin’ Ed’s Carolina reaper, a patented variety for which we purchase seeds from one of the 2 licensed seed sellers. You can count on our plants to be the real thing!

We also carry the second hottest, Trinidad Scorpian Moruga, and the third hottest, the Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia). This year we have also added a whole slew of new ones to keep our Pepper Heads happy.

Use extreme caution when handling these varieties. They hurt!

  • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. 90 days, open pollinated. One look and you know it's HOT! Fiery red, wrinkled, and with an evil looking tail, this pepper is no poser. With 800,000 to 1,200,000 Scoville units of heat, 7 Pot Primo delivers more heat than you need, but also has a citrusy/fruity flavor to balance it's fire. A cross between Naga Morich and 7-Pot by Troy Primeaux from Louisiana, where they know heat! Please be careful and responsible when handling this pepper. Like other super hots, the plant starts out small and slow growing. But, once the summer heats up, it takes off and grows a large bush that will get loaded with peppers in a long enough season. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. 90 & days. Open Pollinated. As hot or hotter than Carolina Reaper, but with a fruity undertone that is delicious - if you can get past the heat! No official heat test has been done, but some say it blows the Reaper away. I'm not sure how you can tell. Anything over a million scoville units is just so freaking hot! Bred in Italy by AIASP, who is not revealing how they bred it. Has the warty skin and pointed end of the scorpions, with various folds. Most have stingers, too. It looks, and is, dangerous! The inside drips with capsaicin oils. Large, productive bushes require a long season with plenty of heat. We ship every Monday and Tuesday, from late March through late May, to the 48 contiguous states. We schedule your shipment to arrive just after the last frost date for your area. We will send an email from our farm (lazyoxfarmyahoo.com) within 24 hours of receiving your order informing you of your shipping date. You are welcome to change the shipping date. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Current Guiness Book of World Records' hottest pepper in the world since 2012... The hottest of the super hots, Smokin' Eds's Carolina Reaper is the current Guiness Book of World Records hottest pepper record holder. Tested at 1,569,000 scoville units. One individual fruit tested at 2.2 million. Ouch! Starts small but makes a 4" bush and produces plenty of 2" by 2" bumpy red fruits with a stinger. 90 days. Developed by Ed Currie in South Carolina. The heat in hot peppers can vary according to soil and temperature, so maybe you can grow one even hotter than 2.2 million! We purchase seed from one of the 2 licensed sellers, so you know you are getting the right pepper! Caution! Please handle these peppers as though they were fire, because they are! Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash your hands with lemon juice before touching anything. Please act responsibly regarding sharing with others. The burn from these on eyes or other sensitive areas is excrutiating. Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. A chocolate colored version of the famous Ghost pepper... 80 to 100 days. Open Pollinated. If you like Ghost Peppers, you will love these. The Chocolate Ghost Bhutlah Pepper is actually a cross between the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) and the Douglah. Douglahs are hotter than Ghost Peppers, so the Chocolate Ghost can be, also. Although the Douglah has never officially been tested for Scoville Heat Units, most estimates are in the 800,000 to 1,001,304 range plus. Ouch. The taste is sweeter than the red Ghost Peppers, too. Some people think this is the hottest pepper in the world, but it has not been officially tested. Needs plenty of heat to grow big and productive, so put it in your warmest spot. We have a 6 plant minimum. You can mix and match varieties to meet the minimum. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. 90 days plus. Open Pollinated. A natural variant of the red Carolina Reaper, the Chocolate Reaper has the same or higher heat rating (Scoville unit rating of 1,400,000 to 2,200,000!). It has a slightly sweeter and smokier flavor than the red. The plants tend to produce more pods, too, some of which have that classic tail. Deadly but delicious! Handle with care. In a long, hot season the plants will reach 3 to 4 feet tall and produce abundantly. We ship every Monday and Tuesday, from late March through late May, to the 48 contiguous states. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. One of the very hottest peppers in the world - these are lethal.. Also called Naga Morich. One of the hottest peppers in the world. Was in the Guiness Book of World Records until Trinidad Scorpion usurped it. Still an awesome pepper to grow, it tested at over 1,000,000 scoville units. Plants start small but eventually get to 4' and loaded with 2" to 3" long, tapered, red peppers. Needs a long, hot growing season to perform well, in excess of 100 days. Caution! Please handle these peppers as though they were fire, because they are! Wear gloves and eye protection, and wash your hands with lemon juice before touching anything. Please act responsibly regarding sharing with others. The burn from these on eyes or other sensitive areas is excruciating. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. Super hot pepper, in the Guiness Book of World Records as the hottest until just recently. Eat one of these and you will feel like you have been stung by a scorpion! Hotter than Bhut Jolokia and Naga Morich. Tested at over 1,400,000 scoville units. Fruits are bumpy, start green and ripen to orange and then red, when they are hottest. Most have a little tail, which is where they get the Scorpion name. The Moruga is one of the hottest strain of Scorpions. From the island of Trinidad, selected by Butch Taylor from Zydeco Sauces. Quite productive where they have enough heat. Probably about 80 days to produce green, longer for red. Plants start small but make a large bush once summer gets hot. The Hottest Pepper In The World now comes in yellow! 80 to 100 days. Open Pollinated. Carolina Reapers have held the Guinness Book of World Records record for the hottest pepper in the world since 2013. We sell lots of plants of the red Reapers, so were thrilled to find this new, yellow version. Just as hot, with 1,569,383 - 2,200,000 Scoville Units of heat. Please handle these with caution - they are lethal! Gorgeous, bright lemon yellow fruits are wrinkled and some have the famous stinger on the bottom. These make a beautiful yellow hot sauce. Like all Reapers, the plants start small and slow, but in a long, hot growing season eventually grow into a big bush that is loaded with fruits. In the north, grow them in your warmest spot. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. 90 - 100 days. Open Pollinated, mostly stable cross. Beauty and the Beast... Watch out - this gorgeous pepper bites! A cross between a Ghost pepper and a Scorpion pepper, bred by Jay Weaver in Pennsylvania. It grows into various shapes, with some having tails like a Trinidad Scorpion, with various bumps and contortions and blistered skin, like you would expect in a pepper with as much heat as this one (900,000 to 1,100,000 scoville units). The heat is tempered slightly (very slightly!) with a fruity flavor. Like all the super hots, needs a long, hot season to produce well. Plants start small but eventually explode into a big, productive bush. We ship every Monday and Tuesday, from late March through late May, to the 48 contiguous states. We schedule your shipment to arrive just after the last frost date for your area. • First ship date is March 22. Free shipping with $35 purchase! Please note: We now ship via UPS. 90 to 100 days, open pollinated. This is the white version of the popular Ghost Pepper, the first pepper to reach over 1,000,000 Scoville units. Fruits start out light green and ripen to creamy white, then white. Has all the heat of the original Ghost pepper, plus a fruity flavor that makes it perfect for sauces. Now you can make a white Ghost Pepper sauce! Like all super hots, it takes a long time to get going. But, once it does, expect a large harvest of 2" long by 1 1/2" wide, tapered fruits. Please handle these peppers carefully and responsibly! Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. You are welcome to change the date to any other shipping week.
